A REAL Low-Budget LUMIX Camera Blog
When some use the word "BUDGET" they're still referring to cameras that are WAY MORE expensive than most of us can afford. So, this blog is truly a low-budget camera blog. When I started transitioning from still photography to video production, I was using extremely low-budget cameras like the Panasonic LUMIX GX1, GH2, G3, G5, G7, GH4, GX85 and G85 (in addition to the FZ1000). I soon realized a lot of these budget LUMIX cameras can produce great video, as long as you can find that "sweet spot" in the CUSTOM SETTINGS. So, I began doing a lot of tests and taking notes for each lens I tested...and then had to create this website (to access the information fast while on-location). After testing hundreds of lens-sensor combos, I do believe you can get good quality, yet to do this, I don't shoot "flat" (or in LOG) but I use custom lens-sensor settings (and shoot Almost SOOC!) I've also started testing budget filmmaking LIGHTS and AUDIO but those may just become long-term reviews. For more info, check out these stories or visit my YouTube channel or The Lens-Sensor Recipes Podcast.
The camera in the picture is my Panasonic G3 and adapted Olympus OM lens set. It was part of what opened my eyes to the idea that budget hybrid cameras could produce excellent results.
