REAL RATINGS
After testing each microphone, I like to know if it sounds realistic (accurate lows/bass, mids, highs/treble) in combination with the recorder and/or AUX. amplifier, to see if it needs EQ.

NOTES:
I'm just starting to test this mic/recorder combo, but so far there is faint RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) but it is a LOT less than the JK MIC-J 017 I recently tested...Aside from the slight RFI, this mic sounds really good, natural and "REAL" (with the Comica FURRY windscreen). It's amazing how each microphone/audio recorder combination renders a different total sound, and it's super satisfying to find a combination like this one that sounds natural.
BACKGROUND NOISE ISOLATION:
This mic sounds good both INDOORS and OUTDOORS and seems to provide a realistic balance of foreground and background audio (which is what I like versus removing the background noise completely). It does a really good job of minimizing the background noise AND reducing the reverb in an INDOOR environment (there is some background audio, but the reverb doesn't sound super reflective, distorted or amplified)!!!
WIND PROTECTION NOTE:
Due to the fact that this is sounding natural with the FURRY windscreen (from Comica) I would say to go with that windscreen (both indoors and outdoors) because it can be difficult to find wind protection that allows the mic to sound natural (without EQ)...but I'm still testing this.
Keep in mind, these settings will not establish the exact level you'll need for every scene (where the audio level "bounces" around -12) but my goal is to provide a good starting point (that comes out clean, after boosting in post). It's also important to use these "recommended settings" for my microphone-specific EQ files to work properly (they won't work as intended if any of the "audio variables" are different). The EQ file was created to correct any sonic imperfections of the microphone or wind protection (foam, furry) and have been created with Audacity (the free audio editor) to make them as affordable as possible. Also, it's important to always monitor (accurate headphones) your audio while recording so you can hear any problems and make any changes needed to your audio.
